Maui near Wailea

One of the things I really loved about Hawaii was how different the coast was.

This was taken less than a mile from our white sand beach on the Grand Wailea resort and here you can see the black lava rocks and small mountain in the back.

This was taken at 6:50 am and Beck and I both said how weird it was to have the sun rise BEHIND the beach not the other way around. (see, we're from the east coast)

  1. If you want it to be more comfortable (and less like the lamb-and-tuna-fish analogy), just go to the leeward side. That's what I always did. It's less of a mind-fuck that way.
